Attention Policyholders of Universal Life Insurance Policies:
If you own a universal life insurance policy (UL, IUL, VUL) or Group UL/VUL from ANY life insurance provider, you must take action. Your “permanent” policy could lapse (cease to exist) despite making all of your payments.
If you are an investor (bonds or equities) in the life insurance sector, you must take action to understand the risk you are exposed to.
After researching over 5,000 MetLife individual UL and VUL policies totaling over $1,000,000,000 ($1B) in death benefits, author and financial advisor, Elan Moas exposes how these policies are designed to fail rather than succeed.
No current rules mandate that an in-force illustration be sent annually to policyholders. They are unaware their policies will lapse in the future.
In Q1 2023, Elan Moas presented his findings to the state of Massachusetts, the SEC, and submitted two new whistleblower complaints based on his UL/Group UL and VUL/Group VUL research. Elan’s findings show why 90% of policies will likely lapse before paying a death benefit.
Who does this risk apply to:
Universal life policyholders from any company (UL, IUL, VUL, and Group UL/VUL)
Wealth Manager/Wall Street
Who are invested (stocks or bonds) in the life insurance sector
A beneficiary (individuals or charitable entities) on a universal life policy.
CEO or human resource executive that currently offers Group UL/VUL in the employee benefits package
Estate Planners/High Net Worth
Someone who has done estate planning or premium financing with universal life
Whose clients own these policies- you must alert them to their risk
You’re doing the right thing—putting money into a life insurance policy to ensure your family will be financially protected if you pass away. But if you’re like many people, this isn’t a policy you’ve analyzed closely (or even know how to).

Moas Consulting can help you determine the following:
- Whether your policy falls into this high-risk category

Great! Finally someone who explained the universal life mess correctly. Yes. His explanation of the in force illustration is something my advisor never told me about. Do yourself a favor and order one.

This book is a must-have if you own a universal life insurance policy. I can’t imagine anyone who has this keeping their policy after completing the “scorecard” that Moas offers in the book.
